Summer Traditions

I am writing this post early this morning. Libby, Jeremy & John Henry all asleep. (JH just went down for a nap....that is what happens when you wake up at 5 a.m.). Robert a.k.a. Buzz, Zoey, Nate & Jonathan left for the airport this morning. The house is quiet, and I am certain of one thing...Libby will be one sad little girl when she wakes up and realizes they have gone home. Having them here was great...Libby followed them everywhere, tried her best to keep up, and did a pretty good job. Libby and Nate have a special bond...he is like a protective older brother. She dotes on Jonathan, but he is not too keen on that. They butt heads a little bit, but I think the closeness in age has alot to do with it. Libby insisted on riding in "Zoey's white car" (their rental car) with them everywhere we went, so we moved her car seat over and she did. Last weekend we ventured to Heber Springs and stayed in a cabin there (we did this last year and it seems to becoming the 4th of July tradition). Zoey's parents retired there, so they were just a few houses down, a short walk or golf cart ride away.

The guys got to golf and even took the kids to play a few holes. We went out on the boat one day and to a pottery studio to let the kids paint pottery...back in Memphis we went to the playground, went swimming, and even had an early birthday celebration for Jonathan & Libby.
It was a great visit. I miss them and can't wait to have them here with us again.
