Life is happening.

My lack of posting has been for good reason. I always say that things have "been crazy" at our house, but this time I really mean it.

We have been contemplating the sale of our house pretty much ever since we bought the place...we knew we bought a "project" and unless we added on to it, we would have about 5 years here before we out grew it.

In February, it was 4 years and the market being like it is, we decided that now would be a great time to buy.

In March, Mimi, Libby & I went to see Jane and the girls. On this same weekend, Jeremy went to Heber Springs for a guys weekend. While he was there, he told me he met a guy that might be interested in our house...what are the odds?

I think we both knew God was in the details of all of this.

We were just about to list with a realtor when he met Andrew.

The next week, Andrew and his wife came to look at our house and soon after that we had a deal!

It all happened so fast, it was unreal. One minute we are finishing up our projects, discussing staging for open houses and the next minute it is sold - and a sign never went up.

This is a true blessing because there are 5 houses on our street for sale.

After signing a contract and feeling semi-homeless we began to have sellers remorse...our first house, Libby's first house, all our hard work, we love our neighbors and our neighborhood. What have we done?

I warned our realtor he was dealing with one of the pickiest couples in Memphis. He took it all in stride and we started shopping. Gary and I would go out during the day and look at houses and Jeremy would meet up with us after work to see the best ones that we had seen that day.

Now, when I say picky, I really mean it, but let me tell you who was the toughest of all, Jeremy.

I can honestly say with that if he ever had to buy a house for us and I couldn't be part of the search...I have full confidence he would do great, because the boy is very discerning. I love that about him.

Last week we finally found one and put an offer in. After much negotiating it all worked out and we are so excited!

Here is the kicker - The seller's are building a house that is not going to be done until August, so we are working with them so they can stay in their house until their new house is complete.

They have 3 young kids and the thought of being in an apartment with 3 kids and moving twice...ugghh.

So, we will being staying with my parents for the summer. Everyone who I tell this to rolls their eyes and acts like this is the worst thing. But I am really excited...

Someone to help cook and clean and extra entertainment for Libby...what's not to love?

I think I may have trouble moving out at the end of the summer, but I will be excited about our new home.

So, my near future is filled with boxes, packing tape and a POD.

Happy Easter!

We just celebrated a great Easter weekend. We had great weather and got to spend a lot of time with family and friends. We were able to go to church with NaNa and Papaw on Sunday and went over to their house to eat supper too.

Libby also enjoyed being a "spectator" at many Easter egg hunts this year...just being around other kids is enough excitement for Libby - she could care less about finding the eggs.

We went to the Easter egg hunt on the square in Collierville with Erin, Dustin & Ford...we had a picnic lunch and a milkshake and discovered the ever-exciting water-fountain (highlight of Libby's day)

We did miss seeing Mimi and Pop this weekend - they were on vacation in Mexico...we are going in May, so hopefully they will know the ropes after being there this month.

Staying true to our roots - and keeping it real Saturday morning...as a child I was a very "free spirit" with my appearance and I hope Libby is too.

Birthday Party Extravaganza

My nieghbor Emily should make money event-planning.

Her little boy, Henry just turned 3 and we were invited to the birthday party & egg hunt at their house.

It was basically a small carnival.

It was so fun to watch Libby have such a good time.

I broke the cardinal rule of "never wake a sleeping baby" - but I was scared Libby would sleep through the party and miss it all. Once she saw all of the action across the street she perked up a lot.

Until, she noticed someone was occupying their red swing that hangs from the tree. Then she went on strike and proceeded to squat - to let us know she was not going to walk another step.

The Easter bunny was there - handing out bunny ears. Libby hated him, but took the ears.

She wasn't happy until she was able to use the swing herself.

They had an egg hunt, but Libby didn't quite grasp the concept.

She did take a liking the the large yellow "ball".

After the party we went home to play outside -

Libby and Runyan cruising....we had a little incident earlier in the week - Libby fell out of the gator. It was not fun, but we just got a few tears and some scratches...

Runyan insisted we use a seatbelt this time and we came home injury free.

Took a trip on an airplane.

The past few weeks have been a whirlwind...We went on a trip to Columbus, Ohio.
Mimi, Libby and I flew up for a long weekend to spend some quality time with the Morris girls.
We had such a great time together and had alot of fun watching the girls "interact" (or better yet watch Julia be ever mindful of everyone's actions, Maggie attempt to take Libby out, and Libby antagonize Julia and Maggie because its just so much fun)

It was great to have un-interrupted time together because it is just so rare.
Libby had alot of firsts that weekend. She got to go to Mother's Day Out with Maggie Moo Moo. I think she was upset at first, but seemed to do okay for the most part. She did some amazing artwork that I am sure the teachers had no part in at all.

She also had her first baby-sitter (meaning only family and close friends have watched her).
Miss Allie seemed to handle all three girls pretty well and Libby did just fine.

Mom, Jane and I enjoyed a little free time and also spiffed up the Morris home while we were there.
What is it about organinzing someone else's stuff? It's just better than diong your own house....

When we got home it didn't take long to start missing them. After a day or two cooking breakfast in chaos becomes kind of fun...it was quiet at our house and somehow Hagan was not as entertaining after spending time with Mimi, Julia, Maggie and Aunt Janie.

This picture pretty much sums up much of what we were dealing with - we are not used to sharing at our house.

Look at this face, the stride, determination...if this doesn't warn me for the terrible two's I don't know what does...she was on a mission for dips (chips) - at 9:00 in the morning...I pray alot during the day.

Libby always gets compliments on two things - her hair and her belly.

Hair: she has alot of it, especially for her age - and let me do this to it today.

My two favorite 5 year olds!

We can't believe that our niece and nephew both turned 5 this week! Nathan was born on March 6th, 2005 and just 3 days later, on March 9th Julia was born. At the time they were the closest thing to actual children of our own and we loved "practicing" our future parenting skills.

It is crazy to think that they will be starting Kindergarten in the fall...where did 5 years go?

We love them both so much and wished they lived closer so we could make even more memories together!
